THE WHITE TRUFFLE FROM ALBA
The White Truffle from Alba (tuber magnatum pico) is widespread in the Piedmont region (Alba, CN) in Italy, where the oldest White Truffle Fair takes place annually. Not far from this Piedmontese town is the Castle of Grinzane Cavour (seat of the Order of the Knights of the Truffle and Wines from Alba) where the World White Alba Truffle Auction is held every year.

But all of Lower Piedmont, namely Langhe, Roero, Tortonese, Monferrato and Monregalese, is rich in White Truffles (Tuber Magnatum Pico).
It is the most prized truffle, excellent consumed on tagliatelle, on risotto, on raw meat carpaccio (albese) or on fried egg.

The White Truffle from Alba is harvested from September / October until December and attracts admirers from all over the world.


THE BLACK SUMMER TRUFFLE
The Piedmontese Black Summer Truffle (tuber aestivum vitt) has a pleasant and delicate taste and smells of fresh mushrooms.

It is a typically summer truffle: in Piedmont the harvesting period runs from June 1st to August 31st .
